Why sponsor Kent Local News

Genuinely local

Kent Local News is independent, IMPRESS-regulated, and operated by NHNN Ltd from a Kent address. Reporting is by named journalists. Coverage is for Kent residents — not aggregated from national wires.

A credible local home

Your brand sits alongside original public-interest journalism — council scrutiny, investigations, local business, health and sport — on a named, press-regulated Kent title. You're buying association and trust, not impressions.

Editorial independence

Sponsorship buys placement, not editorial. Sponsors do not see articles before publication and have no input on content, tone, or scheduling. Same firewall national papers operate under.

Transparent placement

You pick the category. The sponsorship is visibly labelled as such — no native-disguise. Readers know what they're seeing.

Available categories & rates

What sponsorship includes

  • Category header banner on the category landing page (e.g. /category/investigations/) — your brand visible to every reader entering that section.
  • Article footer block on every article published in that category — three-line sponsored block with your logo + tagline + link. NOT in-article, NOT mid-paragraph — at the foot, clearly labelled as sponsorship.
  • Sponsor mention in the relevant section of the Daily Briefing email + push notifications (where length permits).
  • Quarterly update on your sponsored section, plus a named contact you can reach directly.
  • Right to renew at the end of each commitment period, with first-refusal pricing.

What sponsorship is not

  • Not editorial influence. Sponsors do not get to preview articles, suggest coverage, or veto stories. KLN's editorial independence is non-negotiable; sponsors who try to influence content will have the sponsorship terminated and refunded pro-rata.
  • Not advertorial. KLN does not write paid-for content disguised as journalism. Sponsored placements are visibly labelled as such.
  • Not programmatic. No real-time bidding, no tracking of users across the web, no third-party ad-tech beyond what's already disclosed in our privacy policy.
  • Not exclusive across all KLN. Each category has at most two co-sponsors at any time. Sponsorship of one category does not prevent another business sponsoring an unrelated category.

How it works

  1. Get in touch. Email advertising@kentlocalnews.co.uk with your business, category interest, and budget.
  2. Discovery call. A short 20-minute call to walk through your goals + check fit. No sales pitch.
  3. Proposal. KLN sends a written proposal with rate, term, placement examples, and contract terms.
  4. Sign + onboard. Standard contract; we onboard your logo + tagline within 5 working days. First invoice on activation.
  5. Live. Sponsored placements appear on your category from the activation date. Quarterly performance reporting starts at month 3.
